CAREER OUTLOOK
Graduates from this program have a great start on these potential careers:
INSTRUCTOR
David Tate, Diesel Truck and Power Systems Teacher
I have been working in the mechanical trade as a Diesel Mechanic, Machinist and owner operator of an Automotive Service Garage during my 30 + year career in this trade. I first learned these mechanical skills during my enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard, working with and eventually teaching other enlisted members the trade was also where I understood how important and rewarding teaching is.
My philosophy for teaching the course at Sollers Point Tech H.S. is to give the students the labor force skills and basic working theory behind all of the subjects we cover. With this theory and work ethic they will be able to enter the industry and become the workforce of tomorrow! I am grateful for the opportunity to teach and see my students move forward into the industry that has given me so much during my career.
