Justin Rowlands -Automotive Services TeacherJustin Rowlands

Teach: Automotive Service Technology

At Sollers: 6 years

Bio: I grew up working on cars practically my entire life. I have been racing cars since I was 4.5 years old. My passion for cars runs deep which lead me to get a college degree in Automotive Technology from Pennsylvania College of Technology. I am a certified ASE Master Technician and Advanced Engine Specialist. I have helped grow the program at Sollers Point. We have develop partnerships with several manufactures such as General Motors and Ford Motor Company.

I started substitute teaching for the local tech center in PA where I grew up and went to school. Between teaching and helping the students prepare for contests such as SkillsUSA I knew that I wanted to teach for a living. Teaching someone a passion and not just a subject is one of the most satisfying feelings.

Automotive Services
introduces students to automotive service and repair. Students perform selected skilled services outlined in National Automotive Technician’s Education Foundation (NATEF) requirements using specialized tools and equipment on late-model vehicles. Students learn Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified skills through computerized content instruction, shop demonstrations, diagnostic testing, and hands-on activities performed on shop vehicles.
