Where is Sollers Point Technical High School?

We are located in Dundalk, MD at the intersection of Sollers Point Road and Delvale Avenue. Our building is on a tri-campus consisting of Dundalk High and the Community College of Baltimore County. When you enter the new building you will understand the size and scale of the complex. Sollers Point offers classes on the east side of the complex. Dundalk High offers classes on the west side of the complex. The two schools are connected in the center by bridges on the 2nd and 3rd levels. Both schools share a library media center, commons, cafeteria, theater, and gymnasium.

I heard a rumor that you must attend the Dundalk High in order to attend Sollers Point. Is this true?

No, this is not true. Sollers Point remains a half day technical center providing courses for many magnet students in the northeast and southeast areas of Baltimore County.

Why is Sollers Point a half-day technical center?
Sollers Point does not have enough classrooms on the east side of the new complex to offer all of the required subjects for high school graduation. Students are transported to their "home schools" for liberal arts courses, athletics, lunch, and other activities. The exception is Dundalk High. Those students walk across the bridge.

Does Sollers Point offer breakfast or lunch options?

Morning students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria. Lunch is not available to Sollers Point students unless they are in the building the entire day as a combination Dundalk/Sollers student.

What will I learn at Sollers?

Sollers Point offers 8 technical programs and 10 pathways. Each technical program is a certified Maryland State Department of Education career completer program.

What about extra-curricular activities at my home school?
Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities at their home school. Transportation to the home schools is provided at the end of the school day. This allows students to participate in things such as sports, student council, honor society, and club events. Approximately 50% of the students attending Sollers Point participate in extra-curricular activities.

What is the school procedure related to the use of portable music players or iPods?

You may transfer anytime during the summer break by calling both Sollers Point Tech and your home school to relinquish your magnet seat.
